![]() But you can also get some great commander uniques (Liu Biao has all the commander bonuses AND +50% from vassals). Of course, once you're out of the generic realms, it depends on who you're talking about: Zhang Lu has +100% food production Zhou Yu has -10% retinue cost, etc. Speaking purely of generics, commanders are the best leaders/council members (I'd put clerks a close second for their -2 build ability). ![]() ![]() And they are highly likely to get traits that increase public order and satisfaction faction-wide (in addition to having high authority which also increases satisfaction faction-wide). So overall strategists shine best for both admin and assignments the rest depends on your situation (do you have industry, do you need food).Ĭommanders shine for leading factions or being on end-game council: -25% redeployment, +5 faction support, +1 level to all recruits, +1 assignment are 4 faction-wide skills that all are close to each other on a commander's skill tree (and zeal, fire arrows, and mighty knockback aren't far either - making it pretty easy to create a monster leader/fighter). Vanguards have a mustering assignment but I've never found it to be that effective (it says something like -3 mustering turns but long story short it never really works out to -3 mustering turns). Oh, and sentinels all also have a nice assignment that takes off one build turn, which is very useful when initially building a city. Otherwise, sentinels and commanders can have access to +30% industry if they have the skill. Commanders have a pretty lame +50% peasantry that won't be of much use early game and inevitably incurs a -500 bucks penalty (the champion food assignment also tends to get this). Depending on your food situation, all champions have an amazing food buff (+4 food and +50% food production in the commandery). A binding-fury based champion duelist could be a good administrator, as that skill is close to the admin buffs for champions, though I'd still prefer a sentinel or strategist.Īs for assignments, it really depends a lot on which skills are activated, but the best one is probably the +75% commerce/silk/spice one that strategists all have access to. Vanguards are trash administrators, probably same for commanders champions get peasantry and food buffs but they are on the opposite side of the +25% movement/+5% replenishment skills so hard to have it all with a champion administrator. Sentinels do get a nice building cost decrease (as this is based on the purple skill), but given you eventually max out your city build it is only useful for a short period of time. Sentinels do not synergize quite as well with their skill tree - it's still good but if you want Zeal it's completely opposite to the +40/+15 bonuses (they are still close to the sentinel fire arrows skill though). A level 3 strategist can have fire arrows, the debuff, and the +40/15 bonuses (and be within 1 level of having some very nice army-wide bonuses to AP damage, or retinue-specific 25% firing rate). I usually go with strategists as administrators because (a) I use a lot of them, one in every army, so I have more of them that rank up quickly and that I therefore need to keep satisfied with court positions, and (b) their skill tree synergizes well, with must-have strategist skills (fire arrows, the wisdom-of-the-river armor/evasion debuff) being very close to the +40/+15 bonuses on the same side of the skill tree. Strategists also have access to +5 food (I don't believe sentinels have this but I could be wrong). Sentinels and strategists both have access to the +40% commerce/silk/spice and +15% industry, which (IMO) are the main things to aim for with an administrator. Think we missed one?
